WinMoDevs.com IRC channel open

although a lot of you know it a lot still dont

we now have an IRC channel especially for us

An IRC channel is like a chatrrom except its ran on servers owned by freenode, which means it maintained by them

there are three main ways to get to the channel

A, go to the portal page on and its on the bottom (Needs java)

B, go to and make the channel name #winmodevs and type whatever name you want (needs java)

C. Download an IRC client such as Mirc or xchat and get to use that way, this doesnt need any plugins and doesnt take up a tab on your browser

so please come and join use some time

On the 24th of may 2009 at 8.45pm, The daughter of XDA contributor and developer LTXDA passed away after a struggle with melanoma

Our Deepest Sympathies go to LTXDA and his family, And we pass along our deep regret at this event

Appeal fot LTxda!!!!!

A user at XDA developers has been appealing for help in form of prayers and donations for his daughter

his daughter developed melanoma at the age of two and after many treatments the cancer is still advancing so he asking for help in the form of donations to help for more treatment not provided by insurance.

so im asking for you members of winmodevelopers to help in anyway you can by donation to this cause

WinMoDevs IRC Channel!!!!!!!!!

a lot of you may have notced the chat interface has changed on the portal page

this change was made for two reasons

wth the old one there could only be 10 people in the room at once
and no staff

which isn’t really what we needed

so i’ve regstered a irc channel in our name and now we have a lot more options available to us

please feel free to use the channel, and snce nt wont be monitered at all times then please respect the rules of freenode and wnmodevelopers and also to show a little courtesy to people and not flame users

so ether use the java app on the portal page or use any rc client you wish to flck to #winmodevs and join us there

WinMoDevs – whats going on?!?!

Hello all,
You may have noticed there has been a lot of confusion going on at the moment and that theres two boards up in the winmodevs name

we have winmodevs.com and winmodevelopers.co.cc

let me explain why

while winodevelopers was going on maybe two months ago i got asked by quicksite from xda -developers why i had a hard to remember URL. i explained that i was using a free forum software from forumer.com and that the address they provide is a bit long so i signed up for a .co.cc account to shorten it then he made me an offer i couldnt refuse, a domain that points to the site, i gladly accepted and winmodevs.com was pointed at the site

now after a while hwe got talking about the freeforums i had been usng and there limitations and we obtained a bit of server space from quicksite and there was talk about installing vbuletin on it, it was later revealled to be a bit to complicated to do what was planned so he installed phpbb on the server and pointed winmodevs.com at it instead, so this left two sites

this ones is still active and the other is still wating for work to be done

Me, ZeeZee and + que ppc and the moderating team would like to thank you all for the help and dedication you’ve given and hope it wil continue with the new site

but please be patient with the buld it needs time to make sure its stable enough for the public to use it and the fact that free forums wont give e the databse so i cant get allusers will have to be registered by me manually

Chat space opened

after some careful thinking and also user request i have added a chat room to the top of the index

this is only a temporary place to put it as soon we will be oving anyway but its niice to see it

it wont be available through our winmodevs.com domain as thats reserved for the phpbb site thats being built but it can be founfd here

at the top of the page, it needs java to operate but i suppose you all have that

in the future i will look to addinf it to a room of it own instead of the index but this will take time or not be done until the move

so go try it out leave feed back here or in forums

LG Confusion

A few weeks ago GSMARENA announced the leak of this phone and mentioned it being a winndows obile powered phone so i added it to the forums index

now after seeing the release picture and further specs the phone doesnt show any signs of windows

if anyone can clarify for me whether this phone is windows powered or not

please coment here of or the forum post

This was kindly given to us by QUICKSITE from xda developers

its was given to us because the previous one was very long winded. and very easily forgettable

so thanks to quicksite for the new name

and remember to bookmark us when possible

Bye Gecko

After hosting the getgecko.org forums for some time we bid farewell to Nick and his developers

the gecko team managed to get there own forums rather than along with ours

this will make there information easier to organize and obtain

this also frees up some more space for forums for non htc devices so keep up the requests
